»Vasile Alecsandri« University of Bacau, Romania, is a higher education and research institution from Romania, with a long tradition
in the training and instruction of students in different fundamental domains by building key specialized competences in agreement with
the labour market demands. The graduates’ professional and research professional training continues through accredited master and doctoral
study programmes. The University of Bacau also organizes post-graduate educational studies through advanced research post-doctoral study
programmes and continuous professional training. The Pedagogical Institute of Bacau founded in 1961 became in 1990 the University of Bacau
and since in October 2009, the University of Bacau took the name of a famous 19th century Romanian poet, Vasile Alecsandri; The University
is structured in 5 faculties, 37 Bachelor programs, 38 Master programs, 2 PhD programs and has about 5000 students. The University was involved
in the European programmes since their launch in Romania in 1997
(Tempus, Socrates I and II, Lifelong Learning Programme, Erasmus + etc.). The
University has agreements and protocols with universities and research institutions worldwide
(130 agreements and protocols with institutions from
31 countries). The University collaborates also with higher education institutions from
Erasmus + Programme countries (KA103) : 21 countries, 96
universities, 129 bilateral agreements and Erasmus+ Partner Countries (KA107) : 6 countries, 8 universities, 8 bilateral agreements.
